1501-1509 South Broadway; Edmond, OK
Custom-designed and built to meet the client's needs, this building was inspired by the design of the original Phillips 66 cottage-style retail gas station built in Wichita, KS. in 1929. The chimney to the left of Starbucks' entrance is true to the size and scale of the original design, and a working gas-log fireplace provides added ambience to the 'living room' portion of the store. The building also incorporates a drive-through window for Starbucks, which no doubt contributes to ranking among the highest-volume stores in Oklahoma. Starbucks' original neighbor - AT&T Wireless - also achieved sales levels that exceeded the company's original projections by wide margins.
